Adventure Club gained notoriety when their remix of post-hardcore outfit Brand New’s track “Daisy”, the title track off their 2009 studio album, went viral with the help of a listing on The Hype Machine, an MP3 rating website. Adventure Club pride themselves in using Cakewalk SONAR, a little-used production program, which they claim gives them a special edge over other electronic dance music artists.Īmong their other influences are Flight Facilities, Greeley Estates, Bring Me the Horizon, Brand New, Tiësto and Flux Pavilion.Īlso like Skrillex, they owe a great of their success to viral word of mouth marketing and video streaming platforms. There is an affinity in dubstep for bratty, teenage gamer culture and DIY effects. Their sound is perhaps most comparable to the geeky dubstep stylings of Skrillex. They originally began as a hardcore pop-punk outfit, but got bored with analogue sounds and moved towards more electronic influences.
